Slytherin Reads for Spooky Season

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Its about a band breaking into a place that should be unbreachable, led by a criminal mastermind (who is a Slytherin) who claims he only loves MONEY and BEING SCARY but actually cares a lot about his band of idiots.

ALSO its about plots and revenge and plots within the plots already mentions and deals and heists!

The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen

It could be on this list JUST for the money dance at the beginning of the book. I mean, first of all ITS CALLED A MONEY DANCE. Second of all, its very dramatic. And then the rest of the book just follows it with twists and turns and deals and betrayals and clever plots!

A Crown of Wishes by Roshanu Chokshi

What would happen if a ANGRY stabby slytherin princess goes on an epic adventure with a clever unflappable Ravenclaw prince? THIS AWESOME STORY HAPPENS!

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas

Revenge, extreme loyalty to those closest to you, backstabbing, heists, morally grey characters, assassins, disguises…Plus Selina is SO fun. (That one newspaper article? THE BEST.)

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

MURDER MERMAIDS. Do I need to say more?

If I do…ambitious people trying to run from the destinies laid out for them, secrets, a dramatic battle or two…and murder mermaids.

The Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas

What’s better than revenge and dramatic plans? REVENGE THAT LEADS UP TO CAREFULLY PLOTTED DRAMATIC PLANS!

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

We DO love out satire…Plus its funny?

Macbeth or the Twelfth Night by Shakespeare

Shakespeare IS a must, but you could either go with

Macbeth, which is about ambitious people (though they’re not very good at making it work in the long term) but also about people cleverly getting around prophecies (Surprise! C-Section!) and its dramatic

Or….

The Twelfth Night, which is full on confusing twists and turns as people’s storylines overlap into a giant pile of spaghetti and its about secrets and disguises and it even as a pirate! And its funny.
