Writing Drama and Second Drafts!

I almost went on a hiatus for the rest of May...

I haven't read anything in awhile (so no book reviews) and I've hit a writing slump with Twelve Golden Windows (so not writing updates and no snippets.)

WHICH MEANS I HAD NOTHING TO POST

But fear not! All is saved.

As most of you already know, I recently started the second draft of Twelve Golden Windows, my fairy tale retelling of The Starfish.

And about Chapter Three I hit the end of my creative rope. I'm trying to work on the story's conflict and the tension between characters in this next round, but IT'S. JUST. NOT. HAPPENING.

Which is rather problematic. If I was writing the first draft, I'd just step around the problem and keep writing. There will be time for that in the second draft....but that won't work now. THIS IS THE SECOND DRAFT.

...

Capes, Coffee Shops & Cake on the other hand...it's also a finished first draft.

And since I've been plotting the remaining two books of the trilogy, I've been inspired to work on it.
(Because you only want to work on the books that you aren't working on.)

But I don't want to abandon Twelve Golden Windows either...

My grand plan?

WORK ON BOTH!

Since they're not in the first draft stage I don't feel like I have to lock myself in each ones special little world...

So I can hop back and forth between them as the motivation comes without ditching either one...So I'll always have a project. But I'll be able to work on projects based on how I feel that day.

And maybe one will inspire the other?

So basically:

1. I will be working on the second draft of both Twelve Golden Windows and Capes, Coffee Shops & Cake
(I will not be working on In A Dream, even though it is also in the second draft stage because I'm not that crazy)

2. I won't be going on hiatus.
You're stuck with me.
Sorry

Do what you need to do, girl. :)

Can't wait to hear more about both stories because I know they'll be epic!

    1. So excited to work on CCC...the sooner I finish, the sooner I can start the second book. And it's going to be the most terrible thing every :)

  2. Girl - you'll get there. Once you calm that dramatic streak and clear your head a little.
