Awkward and Awesome: Blogging

Warning: I wrote this post late in the darkness of the night. Beware of craziness

Awkward:

That moment when you find a cool new blog and you're super excited and go to click "FOLLOW" and see ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS ARE ALREADY FOLLOWING THEM AND YOU JUST SIT THERE THINKING "BETRAYAL"

Wait what? I NEEDED TO POST TODAY?

That warning note at the top of this post

When you haven't been on the internet in a day or two and when you log into your email you're smacked in the face with notes like "Did you see so and so's post? *waggles eyebrows* and all you can think is "OH NO. WHAT HAS HAPPENED."

You know the date of random days of the week (ie  the days of the week you post on) and mentally figure out what the date is based off them.

Picking up random words/phrases from bloggers from other parts of the world. (Australian bloggers...I blame you for the overuse of "mate" in my daily life. And let's not even get started on y'all. I'm looking at you, Texas.)

Awesome:

Do I really even need to go into this? Y'all know blogging is awesome.

Comments. I know, its always super awkward to comment on someone's post of you don't know them/don't comment often...BUT WE LOVE TO SEE COMMENTS! COMMENTS ARE THE BEST!

Finding new books, movies, music and smoothie recipes

The friendships you form

The inside jokes

IDK...What do you love about blogging?

  2. Yess to all of these!
And "Y'all" is such an awesome word, it can be used excitedly, sarcastically, sadly or sweetly, everyone should use it southern or not. ;P

ALSO, I KEEP SAYING "MATE" IRL LIFE TOO AND IT'S SO WEIRD??

  4. Look, mate, it isn't our fault if our language is the best?? (But I refuse to say y'all...)

I've definitely followed a blog only to discover basically every blogger I interact with is already there. And it does feel like betrayal? because they knew about this thing that was apparently so awesome and they didn't tell? ALSO THEY MAY HAVE BEEN GATHERING AND HAVING PARTIES WITHOUT ME.

  5. Y'ALL???? I'm from NC and I say it ALL THE TIME Not just a Texas thing, y'all.

Though, tbh, I'm so mixed up in my languages/cultures, that once time I said something along the lines of "Balshroi oy, mate, will y'all just listen to me????" And I've been known to go from an Irish accent to a Russian one to a New Zealand one all in the same conversation. I think it's because I have no accent at all, but tend to (not intentionally) copy the accent of the person I'm talking to (or drift into an accent that the conversation reminds me of).
