Books I Took To Europe

So...yeah. I went to Europe.

I think I mentioned it in my post "Books I Was Forced To Read For Class// Rated and Ranked," but only as "I was distracted by the Alps."

Anyway, it was fun. I was super jetlagged. (Pro tip: If you don't sleep on the plane, you should probably not fly for the entire night. I stayed up the whole night and watched movies. And then proceeded to crash every time I stopped or sat down somewhere for the next week.)

But moving on! These are three of the books I read while I was traveling! (The list should actually be longer, but everything else is just old favorites that I reread 147109471984 times. + I have the brain of a goldfish and don't remember what I read!)

Petersburg

Why I Brought It: Because I needed to finish it over Spring Break and just because I'm trippin' off to Europe doesn't mean I can slack off//So I wouldn't have to cram it all in Sunday evening and Monday.
Did I get the reading done? Nope. But if you put someone who is obsessed with heights in a train on the side of a mountain where she can lean slightly and see OFF A MOUNTAIN and then give her a boring book, would you expect her to read it?

What I Thought of It: Didn't really like it. It was ok if you like old Russian literature (I don't) and I thought it was kind of confusing. (which apparently is the point?)

 Chasing Down Forever

Why I Brought It: It was $0.00...So yeah.

What I Thought of It: I was like, Ugh. It looks like a cliche ya contemporary...but oh well. BUT THEN IT WAS CUTE! And unexpected! And she ends up just kind of chilling with this group of surfers, (And they seriously reminded me of The Raven Boys! I loved them all so much!) and maybe the guy she was looking for ISN'T what she was looking for? (You hardly know him, girl) and basically the only real problem I had with the book is her best friend. I feel like the author was trying to show her as a bad friend after they got there? But it didn't work...I don't know...Was a little uncertain how I felt about her...

BUT THEN I LOOKED AND SAW IT WASNT A STAND ALONE AND IT FOLLOWS THE "ALL WAS HAPPY IN THE LAST BOOK, BUT NOW WE'RE GOING TO COMPLETELY CHANGE PERSONALITIES, BREAK UP, AND IM GOING TO END UP DATING YOUR CUTE BEST FRIEND, BROTHER, ROOMMATE, ETC."
So I'm just going to pretend that I didn't see that and that there is only one book!

The Summer I Gave Up Boys

Why I Brought It: It was 0.00. So...

What I Thought: It was cute! It's a novella, so its a bit shorter than I would have liked...BUT I REALLY LIKED IT. The couple is cute! [Enemies to Lovers! SO MUCH BANTER] The characters are well written!

Of the three, I would suggest the second two for your summer travels! They're short and sweet and involve beach volleyball where people get hit by the volleyball and road trips across the country and honestly what else does a good summer read need?

The Master and Margarita

Why I  brought it: I naively thought I'd get to it and get ahead in my school work

What I thought: I ended up not reading in on the trip and just carried it around Europe with me :/

    1. It was so fun! But half the fun actually comes from saying things like, "Wow. This reminds me of when I was in Europe..." or "when I was in Europe last summer someone said..."

Thank you! I spend FOREVER on it.
