Bookstores and Libraries Around The World I Want To Visit

The only thing better than buying a cool book is buying a cool book from an AWESOME bookstore...

Originally a theatre...Now it's a bookstore! Bookshelves where the audience used to sit...Intact theatre boxes to read in...

This bookstore is famous for being the hangout of many famous authors like Ernest Hemingway and has been a landmark in Paris for decades.

GUYS. ITS A FLOATING BOOKSTORE. Every book is stashed in something that floats since the store floods every year. Imagine walking into a bookstore and finding your book in boats, washtubs, barrels...just floating along in the store.

IT'S IN A "BOOK TOWN" SO THAT IS REASON ENOUGH TO GO

Look! A GIANT LORD OF THE RINGS!

*mutters* It should be a lot bigger...But then again it would throw off the symmetry if the Lord of the Rings was three times the size of the other books...

    1. The biggest problem with the KC library is that I would be so tempted to climb up on top and have a picture taken with LOTR.

  2. These are all awesome!! I've always been interested in the one in Wales. I find that a pretty cool idea, though the idea of all those books being exposed to the elements makes me shudder a little. But it still looks so cool!

  3. Oh, these are so cool! I love the one in Wales, and the one in Venice, and aaaagh, the giant LOTR makes me sooo happy!
The NYPL is really cool, although their children's section could use a makeover...
Also, have you ever seen the Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington? Look up a picture of the reading room...it's like something out of Harry Potter, but better!

    1. So we go to New York and then fly from there to London and Wales, then France and Italy then back to DC and Maryland where we jump on the train (which goes through Kansas City) and take it down to California/Western border where we hop on another plane in Argentina!
