Merry Christmas Eve! // Favorite Christmas Traditions & Songs from My Characters!

 Instead of a character narrated post, I decided to go with a post about the characters from Cakes, Coffee Shops, and Cake and list each character's favorite Christmas tradition and favorite Christmas songs. 

 

 

 

Kace

   

Favorite Tradition: 

Watching Christmas Movies with her parents. 

   

They start at Thanksgiving (or about six weeks before Christmas) and have movie night every week (Which sometimes involves more than one movie. They each take turns picking a movie, so the order and films change but they usually get at least some of "the classics" (It's A Wonderful Life, White Christmas, some variation of the Grinch and of A Christmas Carol) and sometimes A Miracle on 34th Street or Home Alone. 

    And they ALWAYS watch Author Christmas (Kace's favorite), 

White Christmas (Kace's Mom's favorite)

 and Die Hard (Kace's Dad's favorite)

But she grew up listening to a lot of Bing Crosby (thanks to her parents, but mainly her mom) and it wouldn't feel like Christmas without some staples. (White Christmas, It's Being To Look A  Lot Like Christmas, I'll Be Home for Christmas, etc)

She'll also randomly hum traditional Christmas carols from other countries or well known Christmas carols, but in different languages.  

 

 

 

Lily

   

Favorite Tradition: 

Decorating the Christmas tree, Christmas shopping, and wrapping gifts in new and increasingly complex ways...All of which lead up to her favorite tradition: Sitting around with her family, drinking eggnog, and opening gifts. 

But also, eating food from around the world! Her mom will make traditional Greek foods and there are imported goods from France and other European countries laying about at Kace's house...

Favorite Christmas Song(s): 

Santa Claus is Coming To Town and Deck the Halls are two favorites. Lily is also the person who starts listening to Christmas music (audibly) as soon as possible AKA the first of November.

 

 

 

Liam

  

Favorite Tradition: 

Caroling and looking at lights and decorations. (Hot Chocolate required!)  

 

 Favorite Christmas Song(s): 

God Rest You Merry Gentleman

(He especially loves the scene in the 2018 Grinch and the version sung by Pentatonix)

 

 

 

Brent

 

Favorite Tradition: 

Christmas cookies. Eating them. Making them. Trying new versions and recipes from around the world. His extended family (parents, cousins, grandparents, etc) get together at his grandparent's house and they have a HUGE extremely competitive gingerbread house making competition.

Favorite Christmas Song(s): 

You're A Mean One Mr Grinch (but also Jingle Bell Rock)
