One Year Of Blogging: A Look In The Past

One year ago today, I posted this, my very cringe worthy first post! [Read at your own risk]

Actually, you know what?

I was going to post something about my first year, review things, whatever.

But no...

Let us go back in time!

. . .

My First Post

 (Truly exciting title, I know...)

This is my very first post!

(No! I never would have guess that from the title...)

I am a teenage author. I am working on a few novels right now and have many many ideas for others.

(Wow, you don't have any idea about many ideas. They are like rabbits. They may seem cute, but they are constantly multiplying...RUN! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!)

Hopefully I will have one ready for publication by November!

(*laughs*)

On this blog I will whine about my writing, (ok, this was right) post pieces of my current story (Almost never and only cryptic stuff though. Whoops.) and blog about helpful writing tips I've found on the wide wide internet and what I've gathered from other writers! (Which is none.)

I am a writer and while I am running two other blogs, I decided to start this one.

(Wait what? *Tries to remember what other two blogs are*)

Why?

(I have been asking myself the same question recently. But about different topics. Like white jeans...)

Because I want honest feedback on my writing.

All my friends know about my other two blogs and read my stories.

(THEY WILL COME FOR YOU. THEY WILL FIND YOU. THERE IS NO HIDING. ALL OF THEM WILL KNOW BEFORE THE YEAR IS UP)

What I want to know, is why my other two blogs have 2000 page views and 1200 page views.

(Because I am bloody hilarious past me. That's why.)

Is it because my friends read it?

(Yes, but more)

Does anyone else actually read it?

(Also yes)

Is is my work actually interesting.

(*?)

(You made 2 people cry. High five girl! *smacks computer screen*)

So I started this blog, afresh.

(That's right. This blog's name is Afresh. About a fresh kid. Or maybe a freshman? A fresh freshman. A man who is fresh who is a freshman.)

Dear readers, I'm going incognito.

So please, call me:

Mary Kate

Oh, and welcome to Hen Scratch!

(*sing songy voice* That's not its name anymore.)

  3. Heeheee....I forgot how cringey this first post was. I do know which two blogs they are, but I promise I won't tell :) Still find it funny that Lia found you literally within the first couple of days.

Your commentary though...I LOVE IT <3.

    1. It was a little hard to resist...but it's always super helpful to new bloggers to look at more experienced people and see their cringey first posts and know that everyone starts off rough.

  5. Happy one year blogging anniversary! I really loved reading this post. It was hilarious and very entertaining how you interested with your first post! I would never have the guts to revisit my first post...mine was truly a disaster in so many ways. Good for you for being brave! :)

    2. What? I like your first post and your book reviews after it. It sounds like a cool idea.

  7. This post is gold! Haha. I just started my blog recently and am already looking back on my first post and cringing...definitely going to host a blogaversary self-roast of my own one day. I am so glad that you wore this instead of sneaking into your archives and deleting it. It really wasn't all that bad of a first post, anyways!

    PS happy blogaversary!

(I have a blogoversary next month, and first-post tag, so... I guess I'll be doing much the same as you for that!)

Happy anniversary, by the way (...good manners would have been to say that first... *awkward*); I look forward to many more! *offers party lamingtons* *in a vague kind of apology*

    1. *cries because I've been offered virtual lamingtons and I have yet to try on in real life*

Wow. You're blog will be turning one in a month? It kind of feels like one of those blogs that has been around for years and you love and just...wow.

My blog is older then yours.

      Weird.

    2. *would put some lamingtons in the post but they'd arrive kind of... icky*

      Aw, thanks ;)

(Yep, yours is older. I shall look up to you in awe, Role Model MK... ;P) (Seriously, though, I'm still working on my 'voice', but I think yours is nicely developed. :)
