Books for Gryffindors

You can find my earlier posts about Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws by clicking on the links!

Cinder, The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer
A Cinderella retelling where Cinderella is a cyborg. The first book is fairly low on the epic adventure level (at least compared to the others), but this is the starting place to reading the series! There's swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing. Ok, actually I think its pretty low on sword fights...but there are some pretty cool battles throughout the series!

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi
A fierce Slytherin princess and a clever Ravenclaw prince go on an epic quest to find a legendary place only heard of in myths. The prose is gorgeous and it's all about writing your own story.

Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin
There's a girl disguising herself to join a motorcycle race so she can win and then kill Hitler. What more do you need?

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
Killer mermaids, adventures, pirates, epic battles, a ship captain prince...

The Lightning Thief, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, by Rick Riordan
Adventures, friendships, quests, epic adventures because of a quest with friends...

Scepter of Ancients, the Skullduggery Pleasant Series, by Derek Landy
IT HAS A DETECTIVE SKELETON. I REPEAT. DETECTIVE SKELETON. Its also about magic and is full of sarcasm and wonderful humor!

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy
A historic fiction about a band of British man sneaking into France to save nobles, lead by the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel. You know he's an excellent vigilante to read about because not only is he saving people...but he's doing it in elaborate ways AND leaving behind a calling card.

The Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan
An elite fighting force, sarcasm, grumpy mentors, best friends, epic battles, and its hilarious.

What do you think? Have you read any of these? Any suggestions? And are there any Gryffindors in the house? What do you think?
