Can you believe that two months have already passed? Because I can not. When this year started, I thought that I would have my first draft finished by now. And I also thought that I would have plotted 3-4 of my older story ideas into a workable plot rather then coming up with three new ones.
Oops.

10 Books I Could Read For Eternity!
Writing Things:
Well first of all, I got behind on my writing schedule, freaked out for about a day, and drank too much coffee, And then I had a chance to think about it and decided that I want this story to be amazing, and instead of rushing it I'm going to take as much time as I need to make it Perfect! Though at the same time, I intend to keep working on it and stop spending so much time working on less important things. Do I really need to write all my posts ahead of time up until June? No, probably not.
So I'm still working. My plan is to have the First Draft and the Read Through done by the end of March so that I can focus on April's Camp NaNoWriMo.
And while I'm way behind schedule, I gave myself the first three weeks of March to the Read Through and the last week to NaNo prep...but I'm pushing everything back a little. It really didn't take me two weeks to read through my last novel and it only REALLY takes a day or two to get fully prepped for NaNo. I could probably even do it all on the first day of April. (Scratch that. The first is Easter. Second day then.)
I've been doing a lot of research as I write, which leads to me over researching some things...Anyone want to know a lot of random information on how Persia Nomadic tribes hunted? Or falconry?
I also plotted a new novel this month. Or at least its about 67% plotted. I still need to work out the finer details (like character names?), but that won't take more then an hour or two.
Reading Things:
Feel my shame.
I read TWO books this entire month.
Though I suppose that isn't strictly true, since I reread The Girl From Everywhere and The Ship Beyond Time 3-4 times each.
The Missing Plot by Genevieve Cogman (Bk. 4 of the Invisible Library Series)
Wasn't too crazy about this book...It was a fun reading about Irene as a gangster, but the story contributed NOTHING to the overall plot of the series.
The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heiling- Sequel to The Girl From Everywhere
*drools slightly*
I don't want to say too much, since it is a sequel and might spoil the first book for you....
But WHOA.
I love it.
It was just as beautiful and magical as the first book, with another slightly crazed antagonist, Mr. Hart still annoys me, KASHMIR <3, boats, time traveling, Nix is at the helm, PROPHECIES, magical mythical creatures...
WHOA
Life Things:
- I watched the Superbowl, even though I don't like football.
At all.
And I listened to my friend's frantic screams about it and ate junk food, which is the real reason to watch the Superbowl. That and commercials.
My favorite Superbowl Ad:
So...did you watch the SuperBowl?
Or are you more of a March Madness person?
-Mary Kate
I'm not into football or sports in general, so we didn't watch it. Puppy bowl is where it's at. (JK, didn't watch that, either. XD)
ReplyDeleteSounds like your month was still pretty awesome! Have a great March!
~Ivie
I always forget when the Superbowl IS because I always think of football as a Fall thing...and then its February and everyone is like "Come on! We're going to watch the superbowl?"
Deleteand I'm like "It's in February?"
Every. Single. Year.
THAT AD! I LOVE IT!!!!!!
ReplyDelete*proceeds to die laughing*
The ad was my favorite. That and the Budwiser one...
DeleteI watched the Super Bowl for the ads and made fun of them with my friends. :D That ad was funny, but it broke my heart. :( My favorite was the one with all the old people . . . do you know which one I'm talking about?
ReplyDeleteBrianna
Why did it break your heart? (Are you a chevy person? Lol)
DeleteI don't think I know which one your talking about...what was it called? do you know?
Same on the super bowl, I went for friends, food, and commercials. XD
ReplyDeleteYep! Food, commercials and....wait? Friends? Lol
DeleteThat commercial, though!!! I can't even. I have got to show that to my brother!!
ReplyDeleteThe same brother who is a horrible defense system because he runs to fast?
DeleteSo glad you liked The Ship Beyond Time, never liked Mr. Hart. It's so good! I re-read those ones all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou plan your posts that far ahead wow, that is pretty amazing. I'm lucky if I get a post a week, and I usually end up writing it the day before.
Ugh, I was so made when Slate let him stay on the boat. AND KASH WAS SO NICE TO HIM AND THEN...THEN...Mr. BLAKE HART! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?
DeleteI don't actually have them all written out, but I have the majority of them planned out. Mainly because I do a lot of Top Ten Tuesday prompts on Tuesday and that's half the month...and then one end of month post and there's not a lot left after that.
Heehee, you know why I watched the Super Bowl :)
ReplyDeleteGreat wrap-up, MK, and Happy blogoversary!!!
Catherine
Yes...but the question is "What was YOUR favorite ad?"
DeleteThe Girl from Everywhere sounds really interesting!! I heard it was pretty slow, though...?
ReplyDeleteGreat wrap-up!! And my word, that's A LOT of posts! I read all of them, I think, I just never got around to commenting! THEY WERE ALL GREAT. :D
The only reason I like the Super Bowl is because the commercials, lol. I only saw a few this year, though, so I can't say which is my favorite. xD

I didn't find The Girl From Everywhere slow at all. In fact, I couldn't put it down...You should totally give it a try!
