Just A Man And His Will To Survive // April Recap

You know, I picked this song for this year's lyric monthly recaps BEFORE everything went crazy.

This Month's Posts:

Camp NaNoWriMo // Plans + Projects
How To Be A Good Beta Reader
Books I Borrowed From A Friend And Some That I Loaned Her
Camp NaNoWriMo // Playlists + Snippets
How We Rise by Brooke Riley //COVER REVEAL
Chocolate Tag
Books for Ravenclaws!

Other Blogging News:

Whee! Camp NaNoWriMo! *cries*
I managed to finish both projects (at just slightly over 25k!) at the end of the second week...but the week I finish them was also the week I had a bunch of papers and school projects I needed to work on so I was just SWAMPED.

Luckily, the overlap was pretty small.

Books Read: NONE

Ships, Secrets, And Sailors by Julian Daventry and Sarah Rodecker and OH MY GOSH. I HAVE NO WORDS. I'M GOING TO NEED AT LEAST THREE COPIES WHEN IT COMES OUT. ONE NICE ONE AND ONE TO GET TEARS IN AND ONE TO LOAN TO EVERY PERSON I MEET

I also started reading an ARC copy of How We Rise by Brooke Riley! I haven't gotten as far (FINALS WEEK IS COMING Y'ALL!) but I already have my favorite character :)
Is it the boy with the dark secret, the spy, the one most messed up mentally?

Maybe
:)

Monthly Book Suggestion:

Well, I would certainly recommend Ships, Secrets, and Sailors! But it might be a while yet before the world can read it :/

Plans for May:

My goal was to reach the halfway point in each of my Camp NaNoWriMo projects, so I guess the new goal is to finish both of them. And I read basically nothing this month because of school so I'm going to try to knock a few books off my TBR!

And maybe I'll start running again?

What are your plans?

MK

  1. Love the title haha!
Can't wait to read Brooke's book, too ;D
I feel like life has been so intense and crazy, and it just continues to pick up. I have no idea what my plans are for next month, except to be more dedicated to reading others' blogs and not just posting on my own ;p I still need to work on some more posts from Germany. But right now I'm working on so many CV posts. And also spending lots of time hiking and not social distancing and such fun stuff.

  7. Good luck with finals Mary Kate! I don't have many plans for May honestly, school is ending so that's taking away a lot of what I spend my time on. I'll probably just read a lot, tan, and also play guitar. :)
    Hope your May is wonderful!
